Over the past 35 years, Dr. Martin has not only designed research and commercial laboratory systems, but has successfully transferred several research technologies into the private sector.

Author and co-author of over one hundred articles, abstracts, presentations and book chapters on the biochemical basis and management of psychiatric and substance abuse disorders, he has also served as the CEO and/or founder of five (5) profitable businesses including one that was publicly traded.

He was the founder of FirstLab, one of the largest and oldest drug testing companies in America and has worked closely with Ron Dozoretz, MD in building several successful laboratory, pharmacy, clinical programs and businesses within the FHC Health Systems.

He has developed drug testing programs for recovery centers, professional athletic programs, international sports governing bodies such as the International Tennis Federation and International Olympic Committee. He has also coordinated mergers and acquisitions and has worked with academic and Fortune 500 companies nationally and internationally.

Dr. Martin currently is the President of JMJ Technologies and Science Team Director of the Afghanistan National Drug Use Study and the Brazilian Crack Levamisole Study. These studies are sponsored by the International Narcotics and Law Enforcement Bureau, U.S. Department of State and the Inter American Drug Abuse Control Commission, Organization of American States. His current interests include the new science and technologies of point-of-care testing for cost containment, investment in medical technology companies in China and the development of nanotechnology, international law enforcement and anti-terrorism technologies.
