Kenneth Blum, Ph.D. is currently Chairman of the Board and Chief Scientific Officer of LifeGen, Inc. and managing partner of Reward Deficiency Solutions, LLC. He is a retired Professor of Pharmacology at University of Texas, and San Antonio, Texas where he served for 23 years. He is currently Courtesy Professor of the Department of Psychiatry University of Florida College of Medicine. He serves as Scientific Director, PATH Foundation, New York, NY. He is the Senior Scientific Advisor for G&G Holistic Addictions Treatment Center, North Miami Beach, Florida. He is also Research Professor in the Department of Physiology and Pharmacology, Wake Forest College of Medicine.
Dr. Blum has chaired three Gordon Conferences on Alcohol and Psychiatric Genetics. He is the recipient of numerous awards including NIDA Career Teacher Award; American Chemical Society Speakers Award; Gordon Conference Research Award; Presidential Excellence Award (National Council of Alcoholism and Drug Abuse).
Dr. Blum is the author and/or editor of eleven books and has published over 400 peer reviewed papers. He is also executive editor of the Journal Genetics and Genetic Syndromes (Omics Group) and is an ad hoc reviewer for 40 journals worldwide. Dr. Blum is published in almost every major scientific journal worldwide: Science; Lancet; Nature; PNAS, JAMA among others. He is actively investigating the role of natural dopamine agonists as an anti-craving DNA directed therapeutic target for prevention of relapse.
